I think i saw three pedals under the wheel,(right or wrong?) if so where is the shifter? Or is it on the wheel? I've got way too many miles going to work at 125 plus mph on the Autobahn for this not to be fun!!!

My shifter is on order, but there are paddle shifters on this wheel as well.

Here's the shifter. It's a 7 speed H pattern or you can flip a switch to sequential. Depends on the car whether you use sequentil, h pattern, or paddles

Buy a G27 and a membership - you will make spare time for iRacing.

I got to try out Chris's rig over the weekend - its a pretty sweet setup. The triple monitor setup fixed my biggest gripe about not being able to look ahead in racing sims.

The unfortunate thing is I liked a little too much, so I'll soon be draining my bank account to put something similar together. Time to dust off the G27. Thanks a lot Chris!

If you're not in a rush, you might wait for the Oculus Rift.

That's still a year or two out at the earliest. Until they get a 4k+ screen in there and find a way to fix the frame smoothing you'll not be able to enjoy it for prolonged periods of time.

Anyone into sim racing, we have two Ricmotech racing simulator cockpits that we no long need. These were cut and milled by a professional cabinet/woodworking shop in Bristol, Tn.(Peerless Wood next to BMS). Not a back yard project. CAD loaded and laser cut.
Just need a seat, computer and controls. These are 'knocked down'. Get your wood screws and lag bolts and put it together. Full size blueprints come with them and directions. If anyone is interested, give me a call or message me. $200 each(obo).

Gary and Ryan, you should buy one each. That is what I have. $200 is a pretty well worth it. You'd spend that much in materials and it would take a while to put together and make a mess doing it.

Alright, pray for me.

Last year, there was the 2.4 Hours of Daytona. But now, there are driver swaps and team racing. So, I'll be running in the iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona with a few SCCA folks...mostly from the Ohio regions. Not sure how much I'll be driving, but probably two or three two-hour stints. Should be a very interesting experience.

If you mean here in LC, no.

Now the little fake people in the stands...they will stand there for 24.5 hours with the same beer. Probably gets warm.

So how does the multiple driver thing work with your team scattered all over the country?

Someone creates a team. All drivers on that team just coordinate stints and strategy ( we have a chain of about 60 emails going), then a driver qualifies to set the teams quali time.

Your team can have something like 16 drivers, but you don't want to switch every time you pit because it adds about 15-20 secs per stop on top of taking on 34 gal of fuel and four new tires. We get about 58 minutes out of a tank in the BMW Z4 GT3, so we'll run either 2 or 3 fuel burns each.

We have about 8 guys, so we may actually run two teams.

So come race day, your individual drivers register with your team and join the session. They can crew/spot until it is time to drive. One it's time for a pit stop, you go in, get your fuel and tires, then just click a button to get out of the car. Then, the next driver clicks "drive".

Here's a video. http://youtu.be/_DTlU6GPOpM

As far as being in different locations, that's all internet and webserver wizardry that is actually pretty amazing.

It's also cool that you all have to race the same vehicle setup, just like the real lifes.
