WRX needed(for non-invasive testing)

Post by whenry »

I have been contacted by a reputable local manuf concern that needs a relatively stock WRX for use as a guinea pig for aftermarket parts. The car needs to be EPA legal. One day of testing early next week, and they would provide you with samples or other services for the use of the car. We have done this for yrs on other cars and all have been happy.
Contact me directly if you are interested. Mazcrt@aol.com

Dave Yoder also comes to mind. Aren't there some guys around here with STI's? Tyler?

Need any testing on a Scirocco?

There's also Harley Helterhoff. D-Stock #24.

I think his is the most stock of those mentioned, and it's non-Sti..

I had already talked with Dave Y and his car will not be available until later in this week or the next week. I dont know if STi will fit the templates for all WRX(?). Im just trying to round up the cars and Hans and Matt make the choice.

AND HOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You WILLLLLLLLLL Want one!!
The Gains are Incredible for a Catback, and the tone is Indescribably Cool.
I MEAN, Moderate Volume at Idle in close proximity, but it disappears in the distance, even at fairly heavy throttle on a humid, still night.
You MUST Hear and Ride along to have ANY way of appreciating the Niceties of this system.
I was Floored.
:D 8)
Oh, and a Vicarious "Thank You" from ME, Wayne, even if only for getting to hear it and ride in it.
DOUBLE Thumbs-Up!!!!!
I never thought that a catback could be THAT big a difference!!!

Chris,
yeah i got one. it's nice. i think the gains are moderate, but cool. it's got a silencer, and this one won't get stolen from my driveway

i got to keep the second-best prototype, and they kept the best-fitting. with corrections, it will be made (in Japan, i think) into a stainless catback and a titanium catback.

i think the gains are just a powerband shift, which the car seems to have needed badly. now... i just need some negative camber up front, and i'll be ok :-( -0.2 front seems to be my max. in contrast to my -1.5 rear. three trips to the alignment shop for naught.

Take it to Matlock tire on Kingston pike. They were able to nail the suspension settings required for my springs. -1.5 camber on both sides up front, 0 toe.

Funny how we can get neg camber in the rea w/o bolts, but one of my rears is -1.3 and the other is -0.3...which is the best they could do.

The dude actually let me help him do the alignment.
