Re: tire size question
The RE-11 is available in a 205/45/16. That's not too terribly tall but it'll still be a gearing disadvantage.

I'll make you a good deal on some lightweight 15x7's. Wheels don't even have a scuff on them. Probably been on the car 10 times or less.

Re: tire size question
Seanan's a pretty good driver. He could drive right around the limited tire selection of 16" wheels.
Toyo does make a 225/45/16. I think Hankook does too. On the positive side, you shouldn't have to worry about running out of revs in 2nd.

Yeah, but you'd have to down-shift to first at nearly every corner. Some people can make that work, I know I wouldn't wanna try.TennTechMan wrote:Seanan's a pretty good driver. He could drive right around the limited tire selection of 16" wheels.

That tire is almost 2" taller than the 15s.

Re: tire size question
Anybody make a 205/40/16? That was the hot size a few years back.

Re: tire size question
Falken probably still does. As far as gearing goes, it's probably the best option. As for grip...steverife wrote:Anybody make a 205/40/16? That was the hot size a few years back.

Re: tire size question
this thread is about the same as someone asking what car to drive in order to be competitive in ST..........
why bother cutting across the grain??? go with the tried and true testing of the past two years or so..and get yourself some 7-7.5 x 15...and put some 195/50/15 Toyos on it ???????????
really.

Re: tire size question
16" tires are roughly $40 more per tire. That alone makes 15's better given the choice. And of course the Toyo's with the super secret speed compound only comes in 15" size

I was being sarcastic. The 16's would slow him down just enough that he wouldn't be able to beat me.sentrase wrote:^ This right here.John Brown wrote:this thread is about the same as someone asking what car to drive in order to be competitive in ST..........
