Solo in the Park - Post-Race

Post by MARKP »

I just wanted to say great job to those that put this event together. I know there was a lot of time and work involved and I thought the event ran pretty well with a few minor glitches.

Looks like the surface change caught several off guard which is why it is good for us to explore other venues other than Pellissippi. I wish the pavement was in better shape at Chilhowie but we did the best we could with what we had.

I thought the course worked pretty well, the one run I was able to get at it. We had an unfortunate tire failure that really sucked since the car felt great on my first run. I was really looking forward to the secont run to clean things up and have some real fun.

My fifth run: 41.433+4

Yes! I wasn't sure at the time whether I finished before or after throwing it in reverse after my spinout, but it appears that I actually did finish backwards at speed-ish. 8) Sorry to whoever had to pick up all the cones.

Anyway, great course today. A big thanks to everyone who helped plan, set up, and run the event. I thought it went very well.

Thanks for everyone who made this possible. I had a great time and didn't go home empty hand. Can't ask for more :)

Yes, I got sidetracked after the last event. I'll see if I can get something posted tomorrow.

Great event!

The surface wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it would be awesome if it was re-paved.

STR should play out to be pretty fun the rest of the season and next season as well :fight:

Channel 10 did a nice video clip of the event, also Dave Yoder did great in his interview, made us proud.

Great event and my daughter loved watching me race. The car felt a lot better now that I have started working on the setting. I still need a caster/camber gauge and a tire pyrometer but it felt good even with the dust. Can't wait till next time. Chad

PS sorry I had to leave before the awards but the wife was ready to go.(way past ready really)

I saw the video on Fox43 10 O'clock news. that video has Dave's interview  , I went to WBIR website and the 33 seconds video they have on the site doesn't have Dave's interview.... :?

Looked like a fun but dusty course.
