Thanks for help with wounded Miata
Thanks to everyone who helped remove my Miata from the course yesterday. Sorry that my bonehead error caused a slow down in what was to that point a very efficient event.
I am fine except for my pride/ego/wallet.
I was already going to have to miss the Nov event due to being out of town but I will be back next season. Had a great time in my first year despite the way it ended.
Thanks again to everyone.

Sorry that happened, John. Get it fixed and we will look forward to having you back out next year.

Re: Thanks for help with wounded Miata
I was "that guy" last week in a neighboring region. It definitely sucks to injure your car and know that you're slowing down everyone else's fun. For me, it was significantly more frustrating than driving poorly or coning away all your runs.
I hope you don't let it discourage you too much. Now you have plenty of time to get it back together and be back next year.

Sorry to hear this John. When I heard about the incident, I scanned the results and notice you only had two times, so it was likely you

Re: Thanks for help with wounded Miata
If I get the Miata fixed in time, I am thinking I will still try to do at least one of the Chattanooga events this year.oldmuscle69 wrote:John Sorry for the bad luck. Both pedals in. can you get fixed in time to attend a Chatt event coming up? Or you going to wait till next season?
Since my daughter is in Chattanooga at UTC, I told her she could bring her Mazda 6 out (which is really my Mazda 6 in terms of who paid for it and who is on the title) and we could co-drive it if the Miata is not fixed in time but she is having none of it.

Don't do it. Save yourself the pain. I autocrossed my Mazdaspeed 6 with summer tires, and it was still painful. Quite possibly the worst autocross car ever. Unless it rains, or snows.John_Kernodle wrote: bring her Mazda 6 out and we could co-drive it

Ok, so with a big name driver it was "pretty quick". I think that speaks volumes.flier129 wrote:I've seen Randy Pobst autox a MS6 and it went pretty quick

It's a moot point anyway because:Knox MSP wrote:Ok, so with a big name driver it was "pretty quick". I think that speaks volumes.flier129 wrote:I've seen Randy Pobst autox a MS6 and it went pretty quick
1. Executive privilege or not, she is not letting me get anywhere near her 6 and an autocross event at the same time.
2. If parts come in as expected tomorrow I may even get the Miata back from Twin City as early as this Friday and in in any event well before the Chattanooga event in Nov.
Re: Thanks for help with wounded Miata
she has the option to start paying for the car herself... right ?
