I like how way after the crash there is still a car running in the background. Someone forget to call red flag. You would think someone at a corner saw the wreck and knew in call a red flag. Chad

Being as I drive a vette, I have watched that video numerous times and I still can't figure out what he was doing to loose control. It looks like he came out of a two cone slalom and accelerated to go straight into the gate but for some reason it looks like he turned toward the curb and then spun out. :? (after watching it a few more times in slo mo it looks like he punched it and the rear lost traction??)

Here's a video without the ad:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BB-KBaev ... r_embedded

Looks to me like it started around a little and he dumped (all the way) out of the throttle. In most high HP cars, as soon as you have to correct for oversteer you'd better be headed for neutral throttle - if you stay hard in the throttle or dump out of the throttle, you're going for a ride that's not going to make you happy.

Yup. Looked to me like after taking most of the course at parade lap speed, he decided to hammer it at the finish and couldn't control the resulting oversteer. Here is a little faster video to show what the ending should have looked like:

I did not need to see this so soon after writing the check to pay for fixing the Miata after my own curb encounter at our October event.

The location of that timing van relative to the finish is disturbing.

I noticed that, too. I was screaming "Red flag!!!" in my head.

I saw the video of the Mustang running on another forum and completely agree!
