So, do you have a Goal to meet this year?

Post by John Brown »

what is it?
The board has been awful quiet for a while now. Have you set your sights on a Region,Divisional..or a National Championship already??? Or you gonna be happy if you make an event this year??

Lets set the bars now... and check back mid way or later in the year and see how its going?

so..any plans?

I try not to set result based goals and just focus on executing and being more consistent, but I'd be happy if...

- I got Aaron to go to nats.
- Aaron and I trophied at nats.
- Aaron and I won national events.
- Aaron and I got top PAX at locals.

Win STM for 3 in a row. I'll have stiff competition this year, so that seems reasonable. Maybe attend a national tour event, leaning towards no Dixie due to timing and my feelings about finances.

Hopefully become a better driver somewhere in there.

Have more fun than last year, and attend more events than last year.

1. Win tire(s) again, that's pretty sweet.
2. Trophy/win an event in pro this year, hopefully multiple times

My autocross goals of the year are to trophy at a national event, decide to go to nationals, and trophy at nationals. Based on the tough STS competition that will be at Dixie, it's not going to be easy.

Other general car-guy goals are to compete in at least one Lemons race (looking pretty good there), not be the slowest driver on our Lemons team, and to get back into a little drag racing again.

I hope to get FTD this year. I hope I can do it more than once but I will be happy with one. I would like to go to a tour event but I don't know if I can make it. Chad

Set FTD at a few local events, Trophy at a tour, Run a 6 second 1/8th mile pass in the Miata, lose 100lbs out of the Miata...with 30 being from the driver.

My goal is to simply show up at more than 2 events this year and avoid curbs, etc :).

Great question. Last June when I started AutoX'ng, I set a goal of top 50% of PAX. From 6/5 to 12/4 I competed in 18 events. By the end of the year I was shooting for top 10 Raw or Pax at any local event. National Tours were an eye opener on just how much I have to learn.

I have a few goals this year.

1. Realistically - come within 1 second of a trophy at a tour. Optimistically - Trophy
2. Beat Eric Davis @ a tour event. He finished right in front of me at both tour events I competed in.
3. Not have this happen again (see photo)

oh and 4...continue to compile my kill list.
