I'm sorry, and it's nothing personal, but competing with you and JY doesn't interest me at all.

You are going to regardless of what class you run.

All I know is that last year was my first year autox and I walked away with the JACKET, I guess that does say a little something about my driving/car or not to some. I have learned a lot from some of our pros and I am in no way on the same level as they are, and I see on here that some have an over inflated idea of the car and the skill level they have. I enjoy racing and would very much like a big class, but if my gt500 would fit in any class other than sm,stm(without hoosiers) or esp with stock pulley I am open for that class. If my times were close to that of our local pros, then I would jump in there, and if I ever get there, look out JB I am coming for you.LOL

Joe, seriously, this is a supportive club and maybe this is the first time you've been "roasted." Hopefully, you'll stick around long enough to be roasted several more times. It's a good thing. Look at Steve, he's roasted anually about his NEXT car purchase and everybody Loves... everybody likes... well, Steve's OK...

See what I mean?

Sorry about that, Rife. It's for the kids sake.

I'm not really trying to bust on Joe at all (well, maybe a little now). I think he'll get more out of this hobby if he figures out what he REALLY wants, and he doesn't have to tell us, either.

I just don't get how you go from talking smack...

...to saying that you don't care about competition and have no interest in running with those folks. For someone with no interest, you sure seemed to go out of your way to to find a different class. If you really didn't care, wouldn't you just run wherever? If I were JY or Scott, I'd be annoyed. Heck, it almost makes me want to find a DSP car. :P

Post Re: car class?
 All I need to win SM for the season is to come to seven events. I was thinking about running SMF this season, but I have too much fun beating you guys in the worst vehicle in the class.

I have done a few things to the car, but nothing that helps at the auto-x. Just more horsepower, and I already turn the boost down at events, so that's not really a factor.

Oh I lightened it a bit too, by losing more driver weight, lol.

Hey JY, to be clear I want to point out that I was NOT crackin' on the Mustang when I said it wasn't the car for the class. Just trying to make the point that a good driver can do a lot with what they have even if it's not the perfect pax machine.

Smacktalk is just that. Smacktalk. Doesn't mean I was being competitive.

I guess you guys don't realize the only reason I ran SM is because I was told that's the only class that was available for my mods. If I cared about the class I would have made seven events to try for points. Whoever gets the trophy, points, jacket, whatever doesn't mean anything to me. Which is why I was always changing tires to get home to my family, rather than go to the end of the day ceremony and get my trophy. Winning out of a field of 2/3/4 cars doesn't really hold as much value to me as you guys appearantly. Maybe when I get a dedicated autocross car and run a class with more than 2 opponents I'll take things more seriously, but right now I'm just running for fun. They're all fun runs to me. I mean did you guys not see me out there with 4 people in the car? If I really cared about winning anything why would I give co-rides every run?

Rife asked why not stay in SM for the competition and I have explained why. If that hurts your feelings, toughen up.

You people really care too much about what class I run, and it is kind of weird.
