I like the sound of this, but want to confirm a couple things.

I don't understand the mechanics of RV showers. Will showers be available without water/sewer hook-up? Any hot water, or cold only? Is it reasonable to think that the RV can handle 7-15 showers per day?

I assume we will incur some fuel costs as well. Any idea what those will be?


I've been thinking we should do this for Tours/Pros too. My thought wasn't as much using it as a place to stay, but an air conditioned place to hang out a little. If a few people can sleep in it too, then great. Should we consider getting 1 RV, and a few of us camp outside in tents, but make use of the shower and air conditioning during the day? I wouldn't be opposed to that.

RV's have a freshwater tank and a sewage tank. They also have a hot water heater. They use a generator or propane tank to operate the hot water heater. Campsite hookups just bypass the tanks and provide electricity. Every RV I've seen can operate independent of any hookups...As for the showers/bathrooms it all depends on the size of the tanks as to how often they have to be filled or dumped. I can't imagine it lasting more than a few days with without hookups if 7+ people using it.... But I don't think it would be too difficult to find a water source to refill, the dumping part is what might be what is difficult.

I think it is a cool idea, but hotel rates seem pretty normal to me.
