I've been checking this out a bit...

We definitely want to plan where we aren't buying gas in Illinois.

Yeah, it's all user-reported prices. Typically pretty accurate. I've noticed around Knoxville when the prices start to go up in outlying stations, the more populated areas are a day or so behind (based on when people report them).

Basically, it gives you what you need to drive to NE.

1) Buy gas around Paducah, KY if you can make it that far. If you can't make it, no real big deal.
2) Buy gas in Missouri.
3) Buy gas when you need it.

Yeah, Gas buddy seems to work pretty well.

Gas has typically been cheaper in Ohio but going to Peru it was the opposite. Gas was $3.59 here and $3.89 there. I don't want to even think about it right now.

Gas has stabilized here over the past 4 days ( $3.75-$3.79 here ) and word has it that by Monday prices SHOULD start to go back to normal between the holiday weekend being done and the storm will have run its' course.

The trip last year was Pittsburgh,PA to Knoxville ( 500 miles ) and Knoxville to Lincoln ( 900 ish? ).... then reversed it on the way back. For the total miles I got an average of 13.5mpg ... thats about 208 gallons and that was when gas was between $3.40-$3.60 ....so I spent about $715 +/- last year. Now, that was driving thru all the really mountainous areas thru WV, some in VA and such.... plus going back north via nashville and thru ALLOT of Missouri.

The only really 'hilly' part I should be having to deal with is leaving here until I get into Ohio. From there is SHOULD be easy on the truck and I'm hoping to get over 14 ( I get about 20 in it on the flat long drives ) so that should help. Should be able to get there and not be broke....

SOrry... I'm about as packed up as I can be for now and don't have much else to do.

In SMF, Jinx Jordan is a HUGE lady vols fan....

Umm,
SMF = attempting to defy the laws of physics
BSP = physics is fun!

Other than that, I got nothing for you.

I typed something but then remembered that BSP is not what it was last year....lol

Lee Piccone ( sp? ) is an interesting factor in that class. He was always fast in FS in his Mustang.

SMF.....Jinx is the favorite I'm betting but Tom Kotzian is a great driver too. All depends on how the Mini he's driving is running I guess. He's a Corvette guy and has been driving the mini at least this season.

I think Kotzian has been in that car pretty much since the class started. Top 3 from last year aren't there. I think Brian Kuehl might surprise some folks. I don't think he has ran against Jinx this year.
