Porsche Event Splash Country April 7 (Reschedule Event)

Post by scottgib »

Rescheduled

Porsche Club of America Autocross...The re-scheduled date for the recently cancelled autocross is 04.07.13, a Sunday. PCA had originally scheduled that date as an autocross school, but changed the event to an ‘open’ event, allowing all comers. Tech and registration will open at 0830, with first car off at 1000. If you’re planning to attend, please email Cliff Killion at cliff.killion@gmail.com. See you there!

As we mentioned to the folks attending a recent meeting of yours, we’d like to invite your autocross crowd to our March autocross.

Could you post?

Here are the spec’s:
Sunday, 03.24.13
Splash Country USA (next to Dollywood)
Look for the PCA sign
Site open at 0800
Registration/tech open at 0900
First Car Off at 1030
14 acre site
$35 per driver
No ride alongs permitted
Bring your own lunch

My main concern is...

who will be setting up the course? and what might we, as the SCCA... expect to experience as far as course types go??

I believe Vic Rola is running the event. He has run dozens of events for PCA.

So, just to clarify. Is this invitation to everyone regardless of our make of car?

Event is cancelled.

From Vic:

Due to expected heavy rain and temperatures in the thirties, the PCA autocross at Splash Country has been cancelled. Stay tuned for a new date, as PCA tries again in April.

Perhaps they have not had a chance to wax the porsches yet...so that would be a shame if they got rained on

Good call. I wouldn't want to run a PCA event in a cold rain.

If you would put shoes on, you might not have that problem. :P
