I don't know if you drive yours on the street, but an STR car probably makes for a pretty good street car.

I'd be boned as far as storage capacity, but I'd rather have an STR MX-5 than my 2 cars.

If the street thing works out, I bet there will be some affordable BMW's that might have a shot at being good dual cars.

I'm amazed at how good the ride is in ours with 12k/7k springs. Except for pretty serious bumps, it's much better than stock.

I think ST cars are generally fine for the street --- I just don't have a great seat and don't want to drive without A/C and a radio.

Yeah, A/c is a deal breaker. What seat do you have? Mono Start?

My half-ass prepped STR car sucks on the street. If I had to drive it everyday I would probably just walk.

I could see that. I was thinking mostly the newer, heavier more powerful stuff.

NA's and NB'a suck on the street in stock form, IMO.

If I sold both cars, a Hype Arrgh might be a good replacement. I could run it in RTF and have a relatively comfortable car that gets good highway mileage (and it is on my car "bucket list").

The downside would be that it is kinda old for a DD (compared to what I'm used to) and that if it wasn't stolen, it would most likely be obsoleted by the AWD's and their camber adjustment if all that mess went through.

I think that they'll calss the AWD cars "up". I'm concerned that the WRX might get lumped with the STi.

I doubt they'd change anything with classing for a few years and the Type R probably "goes away".

It would get absolutely nothing from the ruleset. No camber adjustment, no benefit from a second bar. It already gets the tires it needs. No ECU futz. Things might be different on an open course, but given what you guys run compared to STS and STC, I think I'd be lucky to get within a second and a half of you or Shawn at Pelli.

The tough thing about this proposal is that I think a lot of people are going to feel the need to "lay low" for a couple of years. Will they even come back?

this is why this all confuses me... Why would you want this car then? or any of those other cars for that matter?? If I wanted a DD that I just liked to drive,Id buy that car.. It would have no other purpose. And if I liked to win or be competitive in autocross... Id buy a car to fit that bill to the best of my budget.
My advise... just drive. It aint eating any hay or nothing.. just. drive.

I just can't spend the money to tow, especially if I'm looking at a trip to nats by myself.

I actually like towing, but it is a lot of money/trouble to get to events.

Well, an STi or an EVO would be a badass daily/autoxer. If they do allow camber, especially.
