For everyone's reading pleasure, the Knox County municode

I seem to have lost the link to the proposed change to the code for 2018 that would "simplify" the above. Will see if I can dig it out later.

About the grass: Technically from the house to the road and perhaps a perimeter around the house needs to be mowed. The County only enforces the zoning law violations that are reported. Also, they may prefer to refer you to civil court on some matters that are in the municode, zoning requirements, etc. and they don't feel in their best interests to pursuit. You should consult a lawyer well versed in property law to know where you stand. Your mileage may vary, certain restrictions apply.. Good luck!!

when the county sees documented proof you are trying to comply and your neighbors are "rather grumpy to say the least" they will work with you
