What class would I be in?

Post by Matt McCaulley »

I recently traded in the civic si for a 2000 Dodge Dakota 5.9 r/t reg. cab and was wondering what class I would run in. I know I probably wont get one of those pretty ETR jackets, but autox is too much fun not to participate in. I has a 5.9 V8 with a Kenne Bell supercharger and cat back exhaust.

Thanks,

Matt

Well, without the supercharger it would be in F-Stock.

With the super-charger its E-Mod (with me!)

I suppose SM2 is a possibility, but the rules don't mention trucks. They just say: All two seater cars, not excluded below... and the limit for forced induction in a pushrod engine is 4.0 litre. So, I'd say you're in EM.

Maybe some of the street mod guys can chime in here...

Your minimium weight looks to be 1500 pounds roughly. Ya, look like your truck is going to need to be on a diet. I would chew out the salesman that sold you the truck for selling you a vehicle that is going to need that much work. :) Good luck against Dave.

I refuse to answer that question on the basis that I may incriminate myself.

Actually, I just read Dave's post... He is probably more correct than me. However, I would be surprised if any of the local SM guys would care if you ran there. Maybe some of them can chime in here.

According to my handy rulebook I recently purchased he is legal in SM2, if he didn't have the blower, max displacent w/ blower is 5.0l, however, I know of a SCd Viper that runs SM2, so maybe i'm missing something. Trucks are eligeble for SM2.

Yeah that is the way I read also apparently the Viper may not be legal in SM2.
