KnoxVegas LowBallers are Looking for Spring CMP Drivers

Post by TennTechMan »

For anyone that has ever dreamed about road racing a rear engine Geo Metro or twin-engine minivan, your chance has come.

KVLB is looking for a couple of drivers for the spring CMP race. We camp on site, eat well, and usually run pretty competitively (in the Geo and Contour).

PM me or Gary for more details if you're interested.

We have access to rentable race gear also, so you don't need a ton of equipment to race.

My first w2w experience was at a LeMons race. A LOT of people drive a car aggressively for the FIRST time at LeMons. No experience needed.

We survived this race, and got 1st and 2nd in class B. The next race we plan to attend is the Fall CMP race (Sept 19-20). If anyone is interested in participating in that one, start talking to us now. And most importantly, get started wrenching on the cars. It takes a surprising amount of effort to prep 3 cars (4 drivetrains) for endurance racing.

I pretty sure they are always working on them unless they are at their real jobs or sleeping. Maybe even then.

Most work, storage, and duct taping tends to happen in Maryville. BFH skills are a must!

We're short 1 driver for the race later this month (Sept 18-20). Fall CMP, this race, is the absolute best race of the season. If anyone has thought about trying out road racing and/or lemons, here is your opportunity! PM myself or Aaron for more info.

If it was in Oct, I'd try to make it work. That's just too soon after nationals. I'm out of vacation anyway for the year so couldn't take that Friday off.
