Board and Officers Nominations

Post by MARKP »

We are a little late on this but nominations are now due for those that lead your club. Nominations that were given at the board meeting, as I remember them, are as follows:

RE - Mark Pilson
Secretary - Lin Cox
Treasurer - Scott Gibson
Board Members
Eric Anderson
Paul Breitweiser
Jeff Cox
John Brown
Ryan Jarrard
Mike Kelley
Dave Yoder
Brian Robbins
Paul McFall

Some of these have yet to be confirmed by those who were nominated but that is the list as I have it as of right now. If there is someone you would like to nominate, please post here (after confirming with the individual you are nominating) and I will add them to the list. You can also PM or email me if you don't want to post on here. mpilson33 at gmail dot com.

I will update this post as things change so please continue to check the first post on this thread.

Due to this being a little late, I will keep this open for 10 calendar days. Therefore, nominations will be closed at 11:59 PM on 11/24/15.

I'm pretty sure if you search bylaws in the announcements section you will see it.

Look for election details in the next few days.

is all this covered in the Bylaws that I haven't waded through yet ?

It will be a on line vote like last year and it is six board members that you vote for and you also have to vote for the RE and Sec and Treas. even though they are un opposed.

I have the elections setup in MSR if you all choose to go that route. I was going to bring that up at the meeting. I can send you the link prior to tonight's meeting if you would like to review it? Looks like 3 positions RE/SEC/TRE are on the ballot unopposed voting a YES or NO for that position with Ass RE appointed and 9 members up for BOD which 6 will be elected.

Bylaws read

Section 4. Election: At the November Regular Business Meeting, the Board of Directors shall accept nominations for the Officers and Directors. If there are more nominations than positions available, the Secretary shall cause election ballots to be mailed to each member. The results shall be tallied by the Secretary and published on the forum no later than December 31.
By majority vote, the Board of Directors may authorize the use of an alternative electronic voting method to replace Article III, Section IV, that utilizes the Website or Forum.

This came up last year (not the MSR part, but voting on unopposed positions). We can't/should not require someone to vote for anyone regardless if they are the only candidate.

Also note, only dues paying members can vote. (Art. III, Sect. 4, and Art. II Sect. 1). In the past we have used a program that discriminated between members and non-members, so only members could actually vote. MSR needs to do the same thing.

The software also needs to allow someone to cast a vote even if they don't vote for all positions (ie, voter doesn't want to vote for a candidate running un-opposed, or only wants to vote for one board member).
