A "garage" index topic.

Post by 90civichb »

I think if you are on this board then you probably have a car that you use more than just to commute with. I know quite a few people on here have really nice cars and some that have put a lot of time into theirs. I think this board needs an index'd area to post a build thread. A continuous stream of car consciousness, lol. It may be hard to get people involved into it, at first, but it may be a great area for some feedback, general build issues, fabrication needs, and maybe parts or tools could be found a use.

Although some of you all are all secret squirrel with yours.

Check out some of the build.

I'm up for that. I'm putting coilovers on the Mustang as well as a C4 transmission among other things over the winter. It's always interesting to see what other people are up to.

My time spent in the garage last year usually involved lots of cussing and bad memories.

I suspect the OP just wants to taunt his competition with stacks of hoarded tires conspicuously in the background of every garage picture he posts....

Getting ready to redo the front brake system on the GT500 to drop another 25-30 pounds of weight off of the nose with 8 pounds per wheel being rotational mass.

I have been and still perfecting taking ST rule 14.10.C to the limits of its intention.

C. The air intake system up to, but not including, the engine inlet may be modified or replaced. The engine inlet is the throttle body, carburetor, compressor inlet, or intake manifold, whichever comes first. The existing structure of the car may not be modified for the passage of ducting from the air cleaner to the engine inlet. Holes may be drilled for mounting. Emissions or engine management components in the air intake system, such as a PCV valve or mass airflow sensor, may not be removed, modified, or replaced, and must retain their original function along the flow path.

Im amazed no other STS Mazda has not done this already.. 8)

Also creating an even lighter drive pulley.. lighter belts, and of course.. A NEW CLUTCH!

I just ordered an OSG for the Z and will be installing that over the winter...... not really looking forward to it. I'm afraid I'll screw it up!

I thought Canak had some kind custom CAI.

Anyway, I'm re-doing endlinks, going to try different bushings for the front bar, and building an exhaust. I talked to Lee about revalves, but I don't think it is worth it for me, so I'm replacing my front inserts. Hopefully, I can find some front wheels, and I may or may not do some tire testing.

I think I'm going to hold off on clutch until I'm doing pros.

I'm continuing to put miles on the Focus to insure the engine is broken in. I'm not sure if 75000 miles is enough.

My Amod car that hasn't been out in a long time isn't coming back out with me. I have found something new to me. I don't know if I will run Bmod or Amod yet. It will come down to the weight of the car when I get it home.
