Another loss for ETR

Post by thrdeye »

Sorry to be the bearer of sad news. Walter passed away late last night, he died in his sleep. He's at peace now. No more pain, no more anguish and worry about Mom. He's at rest and with our Daddy now. Please feel free to share this information with those you know he knew but may not be here on Facebook....his driving buddies and all.
I will post more details as I get them

So sorry to hear this but glad he isn't suffering anymore. Really thought we would see him this year.

:( I always enjoyed his upbeat attitude. ETR won't be quite the same.

This is the 3rd racer I know personally (2 dirt racers passed away in their sleep last weekend) that has passed on. I talked to Walter a few times when we were at CMP with Nasa. Hate to hear this...

Oh so sorry to hear this. This is a big loss to ETR and many others. Such an upbeat guy that I always enjoyed being around. His smile was infectious.

Dammit. Glad he went peacefully.

I drew him as instructor a few years ago at an ETR school, and the first thing he said when he saw my car was "well, this will be interesting."

Great racer and a person generally, he will be missed.

There aren't a lot of people like him. He was so genuine and he really cherished every chance he had to run events and compete and be social. I remember not wanting to buy tires for my CRX when I first got it, so I ran it in open. He got me by .003 and he was absolutely thrilled about it. I'm blessed to have been able to know him and watch him experience life.

I have no words. I really thought he was doing much better. I was looking forward to seeing him this year.
Does anyone have any info on services?

I had high hopes, that he would indeed, be back at an ETR event.

He was to me a Vietnam brother and his ranks are growing thin
but his presence should remind us, we may need his kind again.
If we cannot do him honor, while he’s here to hear the praise,
then at least let us give him homage at the ending of his days.
Perhaps a simple post in the forum that might say;
OUR CLUB IS IN MOURNING
FOR A FRIEND AND VETERAN DIED TODAY

Most of our conversations at events were not about cars but about our days in Vietnam....very sad day for me. Condolences to the family RIP Walter.

Damn...this sucks. I am so sorry to hear about Walter. I didn't know him all that well but I knew him well enough to know I liked him.

I only spoke to Walter once, but he was super friendly and welcoming to me as a newcomer. This news is terrible.
