WTB 15" R7 tires.

Post by thewelder »

I got two 225's and I am needing two more tires for my car. I would prefer wider like a 245 or 275. Needs to be r7 to match the others I got.
Thanks.

Hello Chad,

You might try calling James, the parts manager at Panic Motorsports in Columbia, SC, 802 331-5637. Panic specializes in building and race prepping Spec Miatas which use 15" Hoosier R7 tires, and they usually have an abundance of used R7s. They offer same day UPS shipping. As an opinion based on experience, R7s require at least one full race lap to reach operating (grip) temperature, not so good for an auto-x application.

R7s for autox? I've about spun-out 3-4 times while warming up my 205 R7s on my 2400lb miata during warm-up laps. I could only imagine how.... fun(?) they'd be for autox

I only have 205/50/15 R7s, the current scrubs are spoken for, but I might have some later on in the season.

FYI: SM uses SM7 tire, which isn't exactly the same as R7s. The R7 and SM7 use the same compound, but R7 has a different carcass.

If R7's are what your looking for, I have some 225/45R15's (you didn't say if 45 or 50 series). Fully agree with these are road race cmpd and need some heat to get sticky.
