WTB a daily driver!

Post by Mark McCrary »

Ok I need a daily driver. I am looking for a good reliable car. I am leaning toward a (cough) Honda (cough). I am not going to be real picky. I just do not want a granny car. Something sporty but practical. I have no more than $2000 to spend.
I will more than likely wait until we trade for something at the dealership but if the price is right and a decent car I would be very interested. Just keep your eyes open for me.
Thanks,

I would take a good VW.
No Mark, not a autocross car. I know you got one for sale.
But hey I would give you $2000 for the autocross car. :D

My brother is selling his Passat... It will probably be cheap because he just replaced the wheel bearings and axles and now the fuel pump went out. He's selling it as a parts car (which is stupid, because it's nice and an easy fix.) White '90 Passat AT, all power, sunroof. 16V. I'd say he would let it go for $750 if you want to mess around with the fuel pump.

I think I might have to step up a little. I was going to buy a 2.5 RS but they sold it before I could get it. I would like to find another. Any of you Subaru guys know of any for sale?

Mark go to nabisco.

www.impreza.net

Check the car for sale classifieds and also register a post up in the Southeast region forum. I have quite a few friends at dealerships and such. There are a few 2.5s floating around out there with about 30K-40K on them in very good shape.

Expect to spend 12K +

Once the supra started shooting flames and averaging 8mpg, I had to pick up something else. (Sold the GTS) Have been driving a 4dr 89 accord for the last few months. Cheap, ugly, 270k miles, but goes a -> b and averages 29mpg, and has a radio!

Expensive cars are only worth it if they go real fast or make cool noises.

Every dollar you spend on a daily is a dollar you cant spend on a race car.

Example: $450 honda allowed me to budget and purchase $500 worth of wideband/datalogger junk... Wheee.

12K is a lot more than I want to spend. I really messed up not buying that car. I could have stoled it. It had 95K miles on it. I think I am going to have to be patient and just wait until our dealerships trades for something.
