FS: 1991 Mazda Miata

Post by flier129 »

SOLD!

It is with a heavy heart that I am posting my dad's car for sale. This car is what got me into miatas and deep into cars 13-14 years ago. It's not your typical miata, it's nickname is "Ole Garage Queen", but it is a very very capable car. My dad has all the records on the car since he bought it in 2002, when it had 80k miles on it. Parts have come and gone, but this is it's current form.

Flywheel and injector's the only things needed for sts? I'm not up on sts rules but interested.

Yeah, flywheel, injectors, RX7 air-flow meter currently put it out of STS.

The 1.8 injectors and AFM is an old-school trick on the 1.6 cars to add power. I ran this car several times with stock 1.6 injectors and 1.6 AFM, it didn't seem to make much of a difference at typical autox speeds(lower RPM). There was a butt-dyno difference past 5k rpm though.

The engine in the car is extremely healthy. I ran compression numbers on it when two years back when I was selling my 94. My 94 put down 150-165psi across all cylinders.....yeah it was worn out, but it still runs strong according to the current owner! This 1.6 put down 195-200psi on the same gauge, all within 5psi of each other. The car has maybe seen 2k miles since that test, 1k of which I put on it

Clutch is an "OEM replacement" from ACT.

If a SS clutch line wasn't STS legal are SS brake lines legal? That doesn't sound right.
