Does anyone have a working NA Miata diff laying around?

Post by backpacker6 »

I need to acquire one. I don't care if it's open or ls, it just needs to be operational.

Yeah. Pretty sure it's failed, it's either that or the driveshaft joints. When the first diff crapped out I thought it was the u joints. I changed out to another driveshaft and that's how I found out that it was the diff.

It started making the noise suddenly and it's mostly heard under a deceleration load.

Would I need to get new axles for it to fit?

Awesome. I'll change out the driveshaft soon and see if that does anything and then I'll be in touch. Thanks Sean!

If Sean's doesn't work for you I have my old open 6" diff from my 7" install. I also have axles and driveshaft if you need them. I'll offer the diff at the same price Sean is. PM me if you are interested. Not trying to take away from Sean's sell but mine is a 4.30 ring gear if that matters to you.
