Heritage High School
Heritage High School
The address is 3741 East Lamar Alexander Parkway, Maryville. I would post the google map but I can't figure out how to do it. They seem to have a pretty good sized parking lot there. I can't tell if there is any poles or not from the picture. Doesn't look like there are any medians.

looks small maybe 275x200 and a few poles. I'd say we couldn't do much with it.

Re: Heritage High School
Heritage High isn't too far from me. I could probably get by there in the next few days to look it over.
By my measurements and Google's scale, I'm seeing 470ft long by 430ft wide with the islands or 320ft wide between the islands. Is that too small? Seems like the numbers I remember hearing for an ideal site were 500ft x 500ft.

Scott posted awhile back that 300x500 was about the smallest we could do. Then we also need paddock space. The school looks like it has paddock space on the other side of the building.

Aaron's numbers look right to me and it is certainly big enough although it does have a number of poles that would have to be avoided. Looks doable.

Who would we contact? Do we deal with the principal at William Blount or is it someone else? I was hoping it may be the same person for Heritage.

Re: Heritage High School
I stopped by there this evening. In my opinion, it's not autocross worthy. The pavement is old, cracked, and grass growing through. I drove across it a couple times at 10 mph or so, and the rises/falls are probably too extreme to be used. It's a very wavy surface.
If we want to offer to repave it, it could be good. But I think it's on the border of being too small.

I graduated in '96. The pavement sucked then, and hasn't been redone since. Didn't stop us from having impromptu autocrosses though.
On top of the bad surface, there is a pretty steep slope.
