It's just off I26 in Unicoi County. Or about 5 minutes from my house. I'd love to get this lot.

It sounds like we are in if we want it. Got an email this morning.
Iam very close personal friends with Alex Borla, CEO and President of Borla Exhaust. I dont know if you are familier with his location just outside Johnson City, TN but its huge! I have talked with him in the last year about having some auto x events there and he was very receptive to the idea if the group had all the equipoment and insurance to cover. The pavement is fairly good with no major pot holes or abrasives. There a few sparcly spaced out light poles but no parking curbs, it is mainly a huge open un-used lot by the company or employees. Adress is as follows:

3000 Bill Garland Road
Johnson City, TN 37604

Lemme know and I will get in touch with him and setup a meeting or call if you think this would work for you all and your group. c ya Nate
I have nate's phone number, who wants to make contact? Are there any club regulars near there that could meet with him?

WB isn't a bad size. It's just cut off some with poles, curbs, and signs.

I'd be willing to make contact but I'd be a lot more comfortable being part of a contact team with someone that has done this before. That said, I'm still game to help any way I can.

Guffey, I have sent you the info and have asked curt to help you out. I think between you two, we should be able to secure the site. He says he will contact you today.

Any insurance questions that come up, we can defer to Scott, Wayne, or Dave, but the short answer is that we are covered and the lot owner is held harmless.

The bigger Borla lot is 367' x 500'. Looks like a good lot from what I can see on Google Earth.

I can call Borla if you like. Just give me the contact info.

Can someone drive around the lot and determine if the pavement is in good shape? Duffy? I had once asked McCrary to do it but I gave him the wrong location.

It was a long time ago but we were on this lot before(ie Siemons) and it is very usable. Make the call and let us know if we need to do anything to help.

I'm gonna jump on this and see what happens. Didn't the National Office have some packets of info to use for getting new sites? That could be useful too.

Those packets included a CD that would do more harm than good. I have a packet.

How about checking out the pavement first, then let me make a call to the manager there?

Doesn't that CD contain some pretty frantic driving on it which is why it is almost a counter productive tool?

The CD shows solid black marks all over the place and it also shows a lot of trailers parked on grass. Looked like a Nationals or Divisional. It does not represent at all a regional event.

I just spoke with Nate. He says the lot is not even used during normal business hours so no worries there. I'm gonna try and check it out this evening and see what it looks like.
