Elizabethton High School Revisited ?

Post by jbarker52 »

I spoke about one week ago with the superintendant of the E. City Schools re: using the High School parking lot. He called today and said if we could fax him proof of insurance he was fairly shure we could use the lot. (must get approval from risk management first) With proof of Ins. he thinks that will be a go. If the club has a interest here is the fax number 423-547-8111. Send any fax to the attention of Ed Alexander Superintendant. Re: SCCA use of High School parking lot. He said we can work out the dates and details later. If the club has a interest how about a school on Sat & a points event on sunday?

Good job. Is this a different Supt. than three years ago?

He was the High School Principal 3 years ago. The other guy is gone. My son and Mr. Alexander were friends and we have a good relationship.

Not this time. That was the excuse given after the lot was resurfaced and lined. Plus the school administration was in a political storm. That over now.

I faxed the proof of insurance to the school administrator. I called him and he sounded positive. Thanks to Scott Gibson for such a fast response. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I spoke with the superintendent today, he said he will speak to the risk staff tomorrow and he did not see any reason why we could not use the parking lot. He said we have used it 2 times before without any problems. I told him it should be safer this time because of a new fence that goes most of the way around the lot. Some time in June sounds like the earliest date. He would like to have a school club to have concessions there as a fund raiser. I will let you guys know as soon as I hear from him. I hope to reduce the db of my car after tax season and come to PS, Bradley will have another person in ssm that he can beat.

concessions are a great idea. Its nice having somewhere to get a drink or whatnot, and I enjoy supporting those who support us and our club.

After experiencing this with the CRSCCA folks, I am wholly in favor of concessions and would gladly support education by buying some food :)
