Flying around...

Post by keith »

Saw this when I was burning some Avgas yesterday. I don't know what this place is...but am sure it has been looked at 100 times, and there are probably 101 reasons we can't use it. Looks great though...

Somebody just has to go and make friends with KPD Chief. I have a contact with the mgr of the facility but his hands are tied. Maybe the next mayor?

Didn't Randy Cogburn train for a police dept.? Maybe he can go plead our case.

I think Randy told me he used to be a state trooper. It's been a while since we talked about it though.

Sounds like we need to invite a KPD hotshoe out to one of our events and place a strategic bet on whether or not he can beat one of us.

Dave Yoder met with IV several times and received a "No" to his request. If someone has an "in" with KPD or the Mayor, it is worth a shot.

lol, law enforcement runs for free, they can chalk it up to more car control training.

I'm surprised that we'd get a flat "no" for something that some of our tax / citation dollars paid for.

::edit::

...not that any of us would ever speed. By "our" citation dollars, I meant those young folk for whom this would provide a much needed outlet for their here-to-fore misguided need to driver their cars fast. :)

I mentioned that idea before and it didnt seem to go anywhere. I know on previous police team challenges there was concern folks would see the cop cars would be slower that the autocross cars, that would make joe public think more folks could run from the cops and get away... :roll:
