2004 SSP Corvette for sale! SOLD

Post by rocracing2004 »

With a heavy heart I post this up and hope it goes to a good home. I am selling my Vette only after owning it for 2 years. This car has won several events and shows that it can win with the correct driver and has won agianst the current National Champion in Atlanta at the Evolution Supper Shoot-out. The key to this car is the low miles having less than 5,000 miles on it along with the fact that Sam Stranno helped set it up. This car also weights about as low as I have ever seen a SSP car with weight savings like the Carbon Fibor Hood and the removal of the AC and radio delete congersion. It also has racing seats in both sides. I also have a lot of spare parts like a extra set of wheels. I need to get $24,000 out of the car and would even convert it back to stock for a little extra cash if a person wanted it that way.

This is a car that you put tires on have a great time and start winning or spinning as it has 396HP at the wheels along with 388TQ! This car is fast fun so please get this car quick so I don't try to do something stupid and try to keep it. I love this car and hate to see it go but I guess everything has its time and place. Please e-mail me with questions or if you want pictures of the car at robert@volx-ray.com

That sounds like an incredible deal for a well sorted SSP Vette with such low mileage. Can you give a quick rundown of the modifications?

1) Danny Popp built the car after David purchased the car, but it has Danny's tune in the car right now. So the car has been tuned.

2) Cold air intake installed with a CC'd throttle body to get more air in the car.

3) It has a vette sping in the front that is stiffer than stock but I still have the stock spring that's never been used.

4) I don't know what kind of headers it has but they are SS with dual exhaust back.

5) Koni invert mounted shocks.

6) Polly bushings all the way around

7) Aftermarket stearing wheel. (Sparco I think but it was installed new two years ago)

8) Sparco seats and the driver in on a slider.

9) 4 CCW wheels 18x10.5 front and 18x11 rear. (I didn't want to put wider wheels on the back of the car because they in set as far as they can go right now so you would only make the car wider.)

10) Did I mention its on of the fastest cars I have ever driven and it puts all of its HP down when you get on it. :D

I don't even want to say any thing about the cause of the sale, cause that would open up another forum line. Sorry to see a MAN loose his toy. Sorta like getting neutered at the vets office.

Robert, we've only met once and doubt you'd remember, but I'm very sorry to hear you're selling the car. I have seen this car in person back in the Leman days and I'm amazed that the car has such low miles...lol David never washed it, so it was hard to tell.

I saw your post on sccaforum about the wheels... and I'm kicking myself for buying new tires for nationals now! Love those CCWs.

Good luck with the sale. Last I talked to David he commented how he missed the car, so maybe he'll buy it back? :)

If I didn't have my Z I'd buy it as it's got all the right stuff on it.

Brian,

Thank you for the post and you are correct David didn't wash the car but after spending a little more than $200 to get the outside detailed it turned our looking real good. It was funny because the guy that did the work has the picture in his show room of what it looked like before and after. :D I would love to get another Vette and run SS one day because I love these cars.

Good luck at nationals and you never know I may still have the wheels later this year.

Robert, I will be @ the 9/29 event down in TN if you're interested in driving something.

When I move there in the near future, you're always welcome to hop in as well.

If you want to co-drive at nationals, let me know the shelby would really like a talented driver like you behind the wheel. Any time next year as well. JY

Thank you everybody on the offer of a co-drive and I will be looking you guys up. I want be at nationals this year and that hurts a lot because I have so much enjoied being there for so many years. I wanted to take the car out there but I just don't have the money to go. Plus my wife is going to have some surgery so I want and need to be here with her during this time.

Hmmmm... so Robert, did you sell the car?

You're listed as running the car this weekend, but this says it's sold.

We all need details.

JB & Brian,

The car did sell but the guy that purchased the car is closing on a house and he needed to bring more money to closing so there went the funds to purchase the Vette. Marc is a great guy and I wish him nothing but the best.

What or where do we go from here? That's a good question and I don't know that I can answer that right not. I drove the car in Hotlanta last weekend and had a great time so maybe I will be in the car next year who knows. I am moving into a new house with my new wife and four kids so selling the car hasn't been on the front burner if you know what I mean.

I hope that fills you in and I will let you know if things change. :D

1st off Robert,

Congrats on the new house and new family :) I heard @ the event this weekend you were in the midst of moving, so that explains why we missed you there this weekend. I was hoping to get to hang out and talk a bit. Maybe next year.

Hope things start to settle down there for you and you get things sorted out.
