Leaving now. Hopefully we'll see some folks out there. I'll let the owner know we're coming and to expect a few of us over a few hours (hopefully).

JB and I just left the lot and it is 900 feet long and 354 feet wide with no poles and the entire lot is usable we may have to have a work day if we get to use this lot to get the grass growing thru the cracks down but we could have a evo school also. We need to get the right owner cause the one we have been talking to is not the right one. JY

It's both bigger in person and smaller than I was expecting. Less than 400k sq ft, but if we could get the parking area behind the plant building for paddock, we could easily get a 40 sec course on there. The asphalt is pretty smooth and the lack of any poles and only one small area of broken surface shows real promise. From a SSS perspective, there is little concern since there's enough space to design courses away from fences (and there aren't any poles). From a karter's perspective (and a Junior Steward perspective) I think it looks excellent. Some elevation change and smooth asphalt that looks to offer excellent grip.

I will talk to the guy we've been talking to (Aaron) some more to see if he has any leads on the actual owner. This particular site and the plant adjacent don't have any contact info for it, which I think is unusual. Around the west side of the site is a distribution center for Vifan USA so they are another possible contact. I could get into the plant side of the site by entering through the Pope Rd entrance for Vifan and driving around all the way. But we would need to have permission to get in to park, etc, and have the gate open to get to the big lot. Hopefully we can find the right folks to talk to on this.

This would by far be our Premier venue location if locked in.... rolling altitude changes.. a few spots that would have to avoided initially but we could patch a couple of holes and be good. grid area would be somewhat ruff in spots.. but no biggie.

I hope this comes to be!

I think I have tracked down the right owner and they are in New Jersey. It is owned by a Omatex Corp. on 9 peachtree hill Rd. Livingston N.J. 07039 and the contact is Sherry Shu and the number is 973-994-8000. JY

That's great info, JY. I talked to the owner of the adjacent site (Aaron) and he has no idea who owns the empty site we're interested in. He thought a bank, but has no idea. I have a call into a guy at Vifan USA who bought the distribution center on the other side of that site, so maybe he could offer something for us. If he gets back to me with anything other than the contact JY gave, I'll write here.

Now the big question: who will take the lead on contacting Ms Shu to discuss access to the site?

I got the info on who owns it from the property tax office at the court house, so I think it is on the up and up. JY

Yeah, Scott B gave me a name to call but I haven't had time to ring him yet. I never got a call back on the voice mail I left.
