2014 SEDive Time Trials Schedule

Post by thrdeye »

We have a great year in store for SEDIV TT. The Championship series welcomes back Roebling Road which will be the year end TT Championship Runoff. Double points as both Saturday and Sunday standings are counted and awarded points. CCR is finalizing a new Hill Climb for July so stay tuned for future news on that. CMP will be back this year with a Monday TT event after their Memorial Day road race.

This year, TT started a new tradition. TT Champions were awarded a fantastic jacket that was embroidered with their name, region and class on the front with the SCCA Time Trial logo on the back. The jacket is the same brand as what the SARRC awards to its champions but TT does it in a Navy Blue with a Red banded collar.

That actually looks like a really fun schedule. I wish I had the cash to do all this fun stuff..... competitively.

I saw one of those jackets at the SEDiv meeting. They really looked nice.

So, for SCCA, on the Road-Course TT events (not the hillclimbs...which I understand), I gather they still require a cage/hoop, harnesses, etc?

yes, there is safety equipment needed. You can get away with just a roll bar, not a full cage in some cars. Not sure how to roll hoop an NSX

Thanks for the link Ted.

Yeah, If I thought I could actually fit a non-intrusive hoop in the NSX that wouldn't become a hazard when I didn't have a helmet on, I'd be really tempted. I do still plan to procure an actual racecar at some point...after which time I probably would run some with the SCCA just to see the difference, try out the hillclimb thing, and expand the possible event calendar.

I can't justify losing the street-ability though. Maybe I just need to get another one and gut it, lol.

DDOOOO EEETTTT!!!!!

That would be awesome, but that's one expensive chassis to swap out if you find yourself stuck in a tire wall

Hillclimbs are fun! ...and really dangerous.

Didn't know they ran two "Chasing the Dragon" hillclimbs a year.

Hoop is all that is needed in autocrossing classes. Cage is needed when the class requires it.

Chad, I think those are CT/PDX rules

for TT level 3 (flat track)

MINIMUM VEHICLE SAFETY EQUIPMENT: All vehicles must have the following safety equipment at a minimum: driver restraints, roll bar or cage, fire extinguisher. Vehicles shall meet the safety requirements for the class in which they are logbooked.
