Met James at our very 1st Adesa event,a long time ago. Had no idea who he was.. but he was fast.. lots faster than I and have admired him and his style ever since.

2014 has taken some fast company from our sport this year.

I'm shocked. What a super guy. I ran against him in the early days of STS2. He was always happy to help out and let me co-drive with him several times.

I met him at the divisional in Nashville in '05. I had just picked up my first CRX, it was way underprepped, and I had no idea what I was doing. He beat me by a stupid amount of time in STS2.... but he was so unassuming and humble and helpful. At that point, I hadn't met a lot of super fast guys that didn't have some level of ego and it really stood out. The next season, he randomly showed up at the Adesa event that John mentioned... and he remembered me and what we had talked about. That meant a lot to me. I always looked forward to seeing him, chatting with him, and rooting for him at events. He was a staple at events on this side of the country.

He had told me that he had some health issues, but I had no idea... I have so much respect for how he carried himself. I'll miss him a lot.

I ran with him back when he had the itr. Super nice guy. I remember him squeezing the 275s on it and thinking how crazy that was.
Never got to know him well but talked a bit from time to time.
We lost a great guy.

can't say I ran with him … time differential … LOL

but did run some CCR events with him … what a huge lose

there had been some tiny amt. of info on FB, about him having collapsed at an a-x , and was in a coma …

thoughts and prayers for his family

Apparently I've ran(lost actually) against him many times. I'm sad I never got to meet him :(

Jim was a great guy! I had him as a student at a Evo school in Nashville in a old crappy CRX running in STS trim. I think he showed me as much as I showed him that day. We went to dinner that night and I had a great time talking with him. The funny thing is later on he purchased my old MR2 and ran it for a year and I made a trip to his house to purchase it back from him. He wasn't much on cleaning a car but I wasn't either in those days!

He will be missed for sure!
