949 Racing tech info.

Post by oldmuscle69 »

Has anyone read the alignment info that 949 has on their web site? J.B.,Marcus,Greg,Eric,Dave D ,Mike B. Any input would be welcome. They refer to a pinch weld,is that the edge under the rocker with the jack point? I'm just looking for a more defined meaning of why and what settings to apply to front V/S rear. I would like to fix the snow plow.

I measure from the front most part of the pinch weld (for the front) and the back most part (for the rear). The part of the pinch weld that's closest to the tires. Back generally should be 1/4" higher than the front.

Marcus runs 4/4.25 pinch weld height with with his XIDA's (with 949's billet top hats). The car I drive is at 4.25/4.5 on revalved Bilsteins (on NB top hats). Lower front means more traction on the front. Vice versa for lower rear (which means more understeer).
