The drift car's sound level is right around the threshold of pain and I need to fix that.
I'm looking for some muffler options. Something like I can buy at summit or something.
It needs to be 3", not inhibit flow (removing at track events and won't have difference in tune). Everything will be custom made do it's pretty versitle, but mostly needs to actually muffle.
I have always liked borlas stuff. Just don't know which kind.
Vibrant has the canister like style that I'm used to.
Not sure on the quality of summits brand
Magnaflow?

Re: Anyone have experience with mufflers.
I had a Vibrant header and up pipe on my black WRX. Good quality.
Borla is also a solid performer. Just get one that will fit and weld that sucker in.

Re: Anyone have experience with mufflers.
The dynomax superturbo system is well thought of in LSX circles when you need to race with noise restrictions, but they still flow really well. May want to see if you can just get the muffler.
Re: Anyone have experience with mufflers.
If you want fairly inexpensive and adjustable, SuperTrapp is the way to go.

I have always liked Dynomax stuff with the Ultra-flo being my favorite. I like Supertrapp if im going to be taking it on and off.

In the limited options presented by sidepipes...
The Cobra replica community have found these (or homemade copies of these) to be about the only worthwhile mod.

Augers are the most quiet for the least back pressure we've found.
You can reduce backpressure by building your own with the angle of the augers opened up (straightened / straighter flow).
I think the other reasonable option is SuperTrapp (not an option with low ground clearance sidepipes).

Re: Anyone have experience with mufflers.
Borla ProXS here, and love it. I've got a Vibrant res too. I'd recommend a perforated core for longevity and performance. I ran 3" on my old turbo setup with equally good results. Not sure why youd bother removing it at events...

Well, I only have experience in ordering from Andial Porshe and the traps years ago.
Re: Anyone have experience with mufflers.
Dynomax got the mustang down to around 82-86 for the sound police.
