Re: TIRES

I pre-ordered my 225/45/15 RS3s yesterday, seems like the same time-line as last year. Order the tires in January, receive them at the end of April/beginning of May. The official ETA with my order is 5/1/15, good thing I conserved my tires end of last season

right now the Hankooks aren't available … at least on TR (and a couple of other places I've checked) … looks like the R1R's won't be available 'til later in the spring … which leaves SS's … so the first few events will be throwaway events (STM) or just skipped until I can get tires :(

Just talk to a TR rep to pre-order tires.

the word I got (Andy Hollis) at the Rolex is that the Toyo 195's are likely to be in the last production run prior to the April deadline

They're not as fast as the other choices, I think they're inexpensive, but the Federal RSRs are even cheaper and much faster.

Aren't the Fed RSRs 140TW? or is that in some sizes only?

I am pretty sure I got the last set of 255/40/17 RS3's. Glad I ordered when I did. Learned lesson last year when I missed out on the Rivals

Thats what I've always heard. They were popular with the Goodguys crowd until BFG came out with the Rival.

well I guess we'll just have to see what I can get. I'm more concerned about availability over price at this point

There are very few 200 tw in stock anywhere, at least in larger sizes. I've been looking everywhere for days. There are 3 sizes of 200 tw Toyo's in stock at Tire Rack. I had to order Falken Azenis from Discount Tire just so I can have something.

I saw Jon's post and thought someone might want to know what TR has in stock for 200TW Toyo R1Rs. They actually show 4 sizes in stock.

Another potential source is Rodney at Appalachian Race Tire. He can shave them too, if you buy them there. 865-681-6622 I have been buying tires from him for years and trust him for great service, good prices, and setup advice.
