I was thinking Bob and I should bring the A Street Vette up to take down the Brown Dynasty but I think Kristo has that covered now.

Showroom Stock runs A6 compound tires??? I would have thought they would use R6 tires. I think it would take a really hot day on new asphalt and a lot of runs with a co-driver to get new R6 tires hot enough to work at an autocross, much less used ones. The working temperature of R6 tires is 180-200F, A6 is 120F.

My goal this year is to not have the car break at an event.

Edit: A6 starts to come in at 120F, 140-150F is the working range.

OK, that makes sense. Which would also mean that they probably get overheated and harden faster, i.e. abused.

Back in the day, Formula Ford and Club FF were required to start a race on the same set of tires used for qualifying, unless it was declared a rain race.

Thinking back, I'd buy used V710's. The SSC guys would run 225/50/16's. They'd have tons of tread left, but any used tire that I bought was absolutely beat.

...but yeah, roadracers use the A's for qualifying and sprints. You also would see a decent amount of autocrossers that would run R6's in autocross setting. I'm pretty sure that Pilson and Trey did for a while. I wish I had tried it because it was really tough keeping the A6's on the front of the Mazda below 160+.

Hopefully I can pick my game up and chop at your heels a bit. I believe Lucas has a similar goal to yours.

The new pulley is not to my best liking.I think thats what caused the prior engine to die. I will put the original one back on. Now needed a original crank pulley designed for a one belt car.Changing oil soon to see what comes out. Now I know what Cody was saying about a paint shaker.

What worked on the Subaru was counter-intuitive to a lot of cars. Before we got the setup right, we destroyed A6s in no time. We ran R6s on the back to try to lose some grip back there and thought it might work to put them on the front at hot events. It didn't. We got the setup figured out in the spring so by summer we weren't abusing the fronts. R6s never worked up front because we never overheated the A6 with a little water on them between runs on hot days. I guess the R6 would have been better than an overheated A6.

Kristo did have it.. but, wrong car / pax this year put that on ice .. it's still a Pilson, Cox, Brown show prolly.. unless you did bring that vette up..
It's still a game of attrition and commitment .. I proved you don't have to win ...to win.
