I'm a novice, although I did attend some events back in the 80's. I have an Alfa Romeo 4c launch edition and am thinking about trying to run it, but can't figure out which class. Can anyone help me get started?

Welcome! You can always run STM (street tire modified) as long as you are on street tires (140 treadwear or above). That's our local "catch all" class and there's usually lots of competition. As far as any other class, I'll have to look.

I was just looking at some videos taken from last years SEDiv event at Smokies Stadium and noticed the courses were lined out. I know the weather at course setup time may not cooperate but just wondering if lining the course again this year was discussed since we are giving the feel of a national event.....just wondering?

Your Alfa was just classed in SS, assuming you haven't changed anything on the car. Welcome! I look forward to seeing you at the event!

Passengers will be allowed, but all your runs count but 1 so I am not sure how many drivers will want a passenger. So if we get 5 runs your best 4 count on both days so your best 8 totaled from sat and sunday.

From what I'm gathering, the pro drivers aren't allowed to ride with anyone before they drive. We do need to get this straightened out before the event though. I've heard all kinds of conflicting stories.

Yeah I'm not in it to win it, but to have fun with friends. So passengers are a big reason I attend. Hell, have 2 people driving in from Detroit just for this event.

I went with what Mark Pilson said on this topic. We have to remember that this is a 3-part (or more) divisional series and so we have to somewhat consider what other regions might do. The safe bet for us is to not allow passengers without approval from a novice chief or event official.

That said, as always, it's up to an event to participant to protest the passenger if they feel they're getting a leg up by getting a ride along. If that doesn't happen, then you have nothing to worry about.

Aside from that, this event is supposed to have a feel to it that separates it from a normal local event, the passenger piece is just one part of that.

Pro Class has never been "OK" with the drivers riding or instructing prior to competition of the Pro Class.. Has it happened.. yea, more than once Im sure.

Like I said before... you give me a ride along with anyone.. and Im ahead of the game.
