If I was in the position I would have liked to be in for going to nats... I would be going to z-max. The choice of postage stamp, no grip, or 2 days of good grip. Well DUH!! 2 days of grip.
while the grip at Z-Max isn't the greatest, the lot is huge … these should be 60 sec courses … and the deal about "driving that far for a one day event" …. Z-Max IS a two day event … with a huge selection of hotels and restaurants in the area

Yeah I know it's a 2 day event but I only have Sunday free this weekend or I would have gone. Last checked had 31 car's in PRO and 131 overall had watched several video's from the previous event really like the long flowing courses. ..good luck Walter and DeWitt this weekend.

For those still looking for an auto-x "fix" this weekend, the Highlands Sports Car Club is hosting an event on Saturday, the 25th on their new site (four flat acres with no poles or islands) in Franklin, NC. Details available at http://www.highlandssportscarclub.com. As a bonus, a possible route to the site from the Knoxville Metro area is via the "Dragon".
Dick Rasmussen will be at zMax this weekend in his new FS 2015 Mustang GT. He was very fast last weekend in Winston-Salem. He was over a second faster than I on raw time on a 40 second course and PAXed second overall. Interestingly enough, the top ten on PAX were not running in Pro.
I've made some more adjustments to my car. I hope they work.

That was a slight exaggeration. There were actually two pro class people in the top ten, Mike Casino in seventh and Michael Licursi in tenth. I thought it was pretty funny too. This is TSCC, not an SCCA region, although they use SCCA classes.

Last time someone other than a pro won was Bradley Allen on 9-15-13 and I kinda consider him a pro that doesn't run pro and in a really good car. I didn't check 2012 and anything earlier than that either.

That was a special case. Daniel Wendell normally drives a kart, very fast. Cyndi Duckworth drove the same car as Daniel and finished 87th on PAX and 3.2 seconds slower raw tme. I would blame the car. Cyndi isn't blindingly fast, but is usually mid pack or better at a CCR event. At CCR's May event driving an STR, she finished 59th overall on PAX out of 158 entries and third in STR. At that event, Daniel Wendell lost Pro to Jinx Jordan by 0.020 seconds and had the fastest raw time.
