Hi John,

If you haven't already, you might contact James, the parts manager at Panic Motorsports in Columbia, SC - 803 331-5637. Panic keeps a HUGE inventory of Miata racing pieces to maintain their 14 or so house collection of road racing 1.6 and 1.8 cars as well as for sale to enthusiasts.

Mike,

Panic is mainly a Spec Miata shop. Aftermarket headers are not, as far as I know, legal in SM.

JB,

I'm saying that Mike Burke's suggestion that Panic Motorsports, a shop that caters to Spec Miata racing, might have what you want, an aftermarket, coated Miata exhaust manifold, is unlikely, as it's illegal in Spec Miata.

GCR updated February 2016, Page 757
I. Exhaust System
1. 1.6L (1990-1993): The exhaust manifold internal factory welds may be ground from the interior of the OEM exhaust manifold up to 1” from the mounting surfaces of the cylinder head and the collector. A bead of weld or braze may be added to the outside of the exhaust manifold inlet and outlet mounting flanges for the purposes of repair only. No coatings are permitted on the exterior or interior of the manifold. Heat wraps may not be usede
All other years: The xhaust manifold must be Mazda OEM, without any material added or removed. No coatings are permitted on the exterior or interior of the manifold. Heat wraps may not be used
[my emphasis]

Of course that doesn't apply to STS.

Back to my original asking on one of these. Now since someone else wants one does that make it an issue that needs handled right now? I have made contact with the Panic and Tropical guys. They do not have the requested parts. Ya'll kill me.................
