Re: Opportunity for ETR to make money and help the community
Spoke to Mark P. last night and a little with Scott Dobler. I think if we can find a site I can probably get what else is needed to have one in the Tri-Cities as well. I am going to be looking at lots today that might have some potential.

Like others have said... If I'm in town I'd be willing to help.
I know Kim is going to want Tyler to get in this when he gets his permit

Re: Opportunity for ETR to make money and help the community
Let me know if there's anything that I can help with. I have spoken to some co-workers that attend large churches in the area and they think it may be something we could do at their location/s.Mark McCrary wrote:Spoke to Mark P. last night and a little with Scott Dobler. Awesome!!! Where is the location. Maybe we can meet up with the church and give them a brochure.

After going on-site to the churches my co-workers go to, it looks like it wouldn't be large enough area... plus curbs and islands galore.Mark McCrary wrote:Awesome!!! Where is the location. Maybe we can meet up with the church and give them a brochure.
The food-bank at the old Sams Club location near the Airport may be a good spot for this kind of thing. Plus the food-bank may be into this since it's positively contributing to the community.

Lot for the food bank is pretty rough. I thought about setting up a kart business there, but repaving the lot was $$$$$ and it wouldn't work without it.
However, the old Carolina Pottery lot might work.

We really don't need a huge lot for this. More importantly, we need a room for a classroom session. I think everyone has run Pellissippi. Think top or bottom lot size. That's all we really need.

Mark, I've never been to one of these with an actual classroom setting. Usually we set up one or two tents with tables and projected onto a sheet or the side of the region's truck. Works pretty well during the spring and summer and early fall. No need to limit ourselves on locations by looking at only places with an inside classroom we can use.

I can always bring my trailer empty to let the students seat on floor or in fold out chairs to watch videos on the tv in the trailer.

I'm just going based on what I was told by Scott Dobler and a few others that have told me that have run these events. I believe in all the ones I did in the Philly area we split the drivers into two groups and did classroom stuff with them in two groups - one in class while others started on some of the basics, then swap. Usually 15-25 kids in each group.
