ETR RallyX 2016 #1 is in the books!

Post by TedV »

Ok.. Well maybe I need to do a little more after the event work to actually close it out and say it's in the books...

23 competitors started the day on the course laid out by Matt Earl (thanks to Matt for securing the site) and Sean McDonald. I wish I could say where everyone was from. I know Tennessee and Alabama, thinking Kentucky, maybe Ohio and Georgia?? The white stuff floating in the air early in the morning was snow. I'm glad we picked April for the first event... When it will be warm.....

First car off at 10:30. Last car around 3. Everyone got 8 runs. A couple of timming issues which looked to be dirt on the trip contacts, cleaned off during the lunch break. Only 2 cars quit for mechanical reasons. And then there were fun runs.

Wes, the site/field owner was very pleased and wants to know when the next event will be. He will be working on easier access to the site, and smoothing out the field.

Who wants to tear up some dirt next month??? :fight: :fight:

Thanks to everyone who helped getting the event to work. Ok.. Maybe I was a wee bit stressed, hoping it would go smoothly for the competitors.

Sounds like a great event. Wish I could have made it out there.

Ted, I put the Rallycross section back on the main website. Let's talk sometime about how you want the results done.

Best bet is probably to just post them in this forum and then I can link to them from the RX page once you do that.

I posted a picture of the hand written results on the FB event. I would like something better than that and am open to suggestions. I plan to be at the timing test and BMS Match Tour meeting this afternoon

i didnt mind the photo idea, well maybe one i could read, the rez wasn't good enuf for me to blow it up. but if we are having a championship it will be different, if we are not- anything we can see will work. thank you Ted for taking care of timing.

Get with Charles Wright and do whatever he has you do. I'm working on the schedule that won't conflict with our local autocross event weekends and also won't conflict with Huntsville rallycross. If you, Matt and anyone else wanting to be a RXSS can make events in Huntsville to get checked off, even better.

As soon as you or others are eligible, I will start rotating through the safety stewards pool on the sanction/insurance requests.

Thanks Sean!!

Go to the SCCA website and download the RXSS application, fill it out and send it to me Sean and Matt.

I have footage. I ought to upload it so others can see. I'll be back home next week to try and do that.
