Takata Air Bags

Post by dewittpayne »

Somewhat technical: This makes the Volkswagen diesel thing look like a minor error. And they're still installing these same airbags in new cars.

Reports from England is no diesel cars meet the emissions imposed under real world driving conditions. I've never been happy with things exploding in my face that will kill you when not in an accident. :?

Takata is at least planning on releasing recall parts to rectify the situation at some point in the future. I suspect they'll be out of business before all is said and done.

Still no word on what the emissions "fix" for VW diesels North America will be. Also no more media coverage--out of sight, out of mind?

Yes, some could end up not so good with the bags. A software fix will rename the involved V W'S And life will move on. (two part answer)
