I would be willing to haul them for you John. I'm planning on leaving Thursday after work around 5pm. Plan to arrive onsite around noon.
Thanks for the offer, I will let you know if I get everything ready in time for the event. It may just all be too soon to have the car and everything ready. Measuring my valve guide clearance this weekend and all that.

Would be interested in what you find on the guides. It looks like you have to be very careful to make sure your gauge is perpendicular to the valve stem to get an accurate reading.

My heads are off getting new guides right now.

Mine heads seem to be ok for now. I didn't check every cylinder, only 2 per side. From what I read it looked like you would either get an entire head machined wrong or a bad set of guides on a head. Anyhow my numbers had all the intakes between 0.0015" and 0.0017" clearance and the exhaust had 3 of the 4 right around 0.002" with the other one at .0026". It didn't look anything like the horror videos I've seen with large amounts of slop. The factory production spec is 0.0024" and the service limit is at 0.0037". With only 1 coming up just barely over the production spec I think I'm ok for another 10-15k miles unless I start seeing oil burning or bad noises. I do only have 11k on the car. If that happens I will probably just go with aftermarket heads and turn it into a CAM-S car.

You had to pull the springs off to check, right?

That is correct. You have to pull the springs and the valve stem seals to check the movement with the heads still on the car.

Got registered this morning. Already some SSR competition. Ironically, that was my old competition back in pa. Lol

I don't need a room after all, so no need to have me on the list. Thanks though

There's 5 now. For the record, I wrote in against the twins to DS move. Oh well.

I have to say I'm a little surprised that people were willing to give up their TRD parts and move to DS.

I think given the choice, they want to take their chances against horsepower versus the new Miata. It's not just the FRS/86 in DS.
