ETR#2 - Romancing the cone!!
Enough of the romance. You guys are entirely too quiet. I'm getting excited about this event. Anyone else?

Had to change rotors on the front as the pads were not making good contact across the entire rotor surface.

We're looking forward to not plowing across the course on all seasons this time around. The cones might appreciate less of a beating.

Driving a subaru, get used to pushing and plowing. It's what they do bestbenk wrote:We're looking forward to not plowing across the course on all seasons this time around. The cones might appreciate less of a beating.

Let me introduce you to the FWD Lord and Savior, left foot trail braking.Buck05Sti wrote:Driving a subaru, get used to pushing and plowing. Except for that whole ice mode thing.
:: Edit :: there are some setup things that make it kinda scary on the street but works good for autoX. Think stance alignment, but apply it to toe.

Left foot braking might be good on corner entry, but not so much the fastest way on exit.

You're not going to have a happy time LFB'ing the Subaru (no vacuum sometimes).
Rear toe out! It's SUPER easy to dial in before the event and take it right back out after. You're not going to be perfect on the setting it back, but it doesn't really matter. Never had a a problem with tire wear. I thought it would be a pain in the ass to change, but it increased my enjoyment of the white WRX 10x. For smokies, about 1/4 out ought to get it.
edit: I still needed full stiff konis and 50 PSI in the rear to get the rotation I wanted. I was running a big front swaybar to help with roll (which you really need to prevent on that car)

I do miss axing my subaru...sometimes. But, in hindsight, i've had to continue to unlearn terrible habits from driving that car and learning to ax in it. Stabbing the pedals and manhandilng the living damnit out of the wheel work on a subaru (especially one with stock alignment specs) but are terrible things to be doing on literally any other car.

Ordered Rivals, so I'm hoping I have a chance to test both. I'll be sure and tip my grid guy.

I think you will like the Rivals. So far, I'm impressed.

I thought seriously getting a set.. but, just not convinced yet. 71's are awfully good!
and until somebody back to backs them and shows constant improvement, Ill just hang.

The Bridgestones really suit me and they are so good on the street, but every other Spyder guy is trying them, so I have to at least give it a go.
I'll definitely be running the 'stones for the first 3 Sunday.

If you went 225s and don't end up liking them I can help you out.steverife wrote:The Bridgestones really suit me and they are so good on the street, but every other Spyder guy is trying them, so I have to at least give it a go.
