Hey guys... the rules are set the way they are and they aren't going to change. This will likely be the only time you will ever see this kind of event, if you see it at all. If you want to have some fun, come run. Maybe you win some money, maybe you don't.

Steve, I would agree that you might be able to do that with all those runs back to back but not running one on both sides and then waiting 20-30 minutes before you run again. I am open for what ever you all think the rule should be, BUT if it goes higher then I guarantee that sand bagging will be what wins.

I agree.

Everybody isnt gonna get the money. 1 driver is gonna win. it may be the best driver .. or it could be the LUCKIEST MoFo there!
Dollars make me pay full attention to my driving. Plus.. you dont have to win overall to get a pretty good chunk O change.. you can be well down the order and still buy cold beer that night!

I get it. But we're sitting here scratching our heads why turnout is low for a $1000 payout.....and several of us are telling you (collective) the reasons why.....and nothing changes.

Dobler said the rules won't change at this point so they are what they are. This event won't happen next year so now is it.

I do get what you are saying Chris, but if we up the break out rule, then no need to have the event cause too many people would be able to sand bag and that is what we are trying to prevent and with this much money on the line and etr hosting I for one don't want that headache of people saying you or them or she or he sand bagged and won. We then have a bigger mess on our hands.
Edit: It is a heads up and the fastest most consistent one without breaking out will win.

Again - not a problem if there's a strong incentive to set a quick dial in.

150.00 dollars to the top 2 and that is 60.00 more than entry fee and with the 1.5 break out rule that is strong enough for me to go out and run my best so I don't push that envelope of breaking out and getting DQed in the later rounds. I would rather and this is me personally and others as well have the big money on the winning end than on the starting end and even if we went to 250.00 for top time and you didn't even place in the top 4 and that is all you won and someone that finishes 4th wins more money than you did. Who wins in that deal, the guy finishing 4th won more money.

If we go strong on the front end why run the back end if you win 500.00 for top time and only 350.00 to win the event. That's about where it would be if we went 500.00 for top time 400.00 for 2nd time and so on, the winner wouldn't get as much as top time would.
Edit: The event only has so much money to pay out and pay lot fee unless we went up another 30.00 on entry fee to get more money on the front end and it's more about winning the event than anything else.

In the first round of the match tour I went 51.280. This is when my dial-in would have been set for the "Cash Cross"

My "clean" time im the first round of the shootout was 49.292( on stone cold tires set 2 psi low so they woukd be "righr for my second run)

I'm not sure where you all went to school....but my math says thats right at 2 seconds different....how would I not have "broken out" and been DSQed again???

I'm referring to your first 6 runs not your shootout runs. I am perfectly aware of your time in the shootout and never mentioned those runs.

That was also your 7th and 8th run on a 50 second course and yeah someone might and I mean might find more than 1.5 on two courses that are only 30 and 35 seconds. Its up to each person if they want a shot at 1000.00 and if someone doesn't want to win a 1000.00 then just don't run the event. I guarantee that only 1-3 people will possibly break out and if you give an honest run and really get after it, you won't even get close to breaking out. But that is just me as I broke out in the shootout also and still had room to break out again and one may do like Eric said and that is just the chance you take. 1000.00 dollars is a good enough chance for me to run it.

This event is going to be catered to just one or two peoples driving style, it is catered to who runs the hardest and really gives the all out runs and stays right on top on those times for each round. I hope the event happens and everyone will see if you give an honest run every time the issues will be ZERO.
