Post by TedV »

Who around ETR can build a killer pinewood derby car and send it to national convention with our reps?

Asking for a friend..

I built one for my daughter when she was in Girl Scouts. It was in speck but they said it wasn’t sporting and disqualified it.

I took the rules to the max. When they inspected it I had to prove everything was legal. Polish axles, reamed wheels, turned wheels to remove mold seams. Weight was .4 over so it would round down. They said we took it to far. Funny thing is she did most of the work with my research and direction.

That's the whole point of competition!! And the whole point of the build. Parent supervising the kid doing the work to spend time together on a project..

if you still have it, I say send it to Nationals if there is room in the luggage. Guess I need to find out about that detail.

If you want to send it, I'm sure we can find room.
