Now that 2017 is in the book what upgrades are folks planning for 2018?

Post by Phil Smith »

For me the plan is to:
1. Put car and driver on weight loss program. Combined total for car and driver of about 75 lbs. Car light wt. battery, lighter seats, and lighter cat. and muffler.

2. Stiffer sway bar both front and rear of car. Think I have figured out way to significantly increase front sway bar and stay legal in STR. That will allow larger rear sway bar.

3, Go up one tire size in front. Currently have 225 in front and think I have room to go to 235 in front.

My plan is to somehow build a 1993 Camaro in record time. So far, the car is still sitting in the driveway.

This year im planning to focus more on the fun aspect again. Also *hoping* to drive that 93 camaro... Mark, your V8 is running and drivable at least, Crowd Control is still under the knife. You want to run the STi the first couple events? ;D

Kinda at the point where the Spyder won't be fun unless I'm in the mix to win. Don't really want to be there.

Waiting to see what the spec tire will be for SSC...

Always working on the driver.... last year, it was work on a 3 run strategy. This year, I'm working on braking and getting closer to cones/driving tighter lines. So I've got the sharpie ready...

The main thing I'm doing is trying to bulk up Kieran so our weight difference is as small as possible so I don't have to add a bunch of weight to the kart for him. Then re-corner-weighting the kart so it will work for both of us. I might open the cylinder to make sure it looks OK, but have no plans to change anything.

First of all I have to replace the engine wiring harness that the field rats decided to use as a food source. Then I will be changing springs and adding spherical bearings to the front and rear control arms. Adding adjustable camber and toe links to the rear also.

That is some fine dining for some field rats. Usually they are eating like a 95 Lumina or something...
