Time to get tuned in!

Post by John Brown »

So, the Dodge has an appt to get Dyno Tuned on the 24th. (wont make the Atlanta T&T)

Place is InTune Motorsports in Charleston Tn. They have experience with Diablo Trinity EX 3rd party tuning.

Owner, Scott seems very nice and currently working a Twin Turbo Challenger in his shop..

Any one have experience with them?

No personal experience, but I know that he's been around a long time and had a pretty good rep when I paid attention to such things.

When I lived in Chattanooga, there were several people there who used their services. They do good work, but their Dyno has a reputation of being a bit "optimistic."

So be more interested in the before and after graph than the final numbers.

I dont even care about numbers it puts out.. I just want it to be driveable. And mostly, idle without hunting. damm thing sounds awesome at idle..but when it gets completely warmed up,it starts to idle hunt.. and mostly dies.

Changes were mainly made for extended revs. and to lighten the front end. each head was 12lbs lighter.. that includes the OEM manifold vs long tube headers. (with head, bumper, exhaust changes.. appx 100lbs came off the front)

Ok re think what caused the hunting and then die thing and go in the correct direction. Did you reprogram the car or your understudy? And have you added any hard parts? Take a look at the fuel mapping and fix it, before and after you made the change. Sounds like a air/fuel ratio issue. Have any fuel system or air intake system parts been replaced? What fault codes show when it dies? Gwad you are a dealer just fix the EFFEN thing! Dyno slimo.

ummm, Bob.

Its no longer Dodge Parts. when ya change this much, Dyno is your only option to tune. And, you have to have the software to do so.

It's all good... just as I planned it. Every body has had good things to say about the tuner guy..

I think Bob is trying to say you should just put it all back to stock. :-)

He tuned the Camaro when she got the new engine. No complaints and he knows his shit. Probably spent an extra 2-3 hours diagnosing a wiring issue with the car and he didn't charge me extra.

I don't know about the optimistic dyno numbers. When I was there he had a Mustang that he admitted was "pessimistic" and returned lower numbers than a Dynojet. My car was like 380 rwhp on his, and then 450 rwhp a month later when I put in a local dyno jet (no changes). That was 9 years ago - so he might have changed equipment since then.

I will save what little bit of bfg I have left for a couple runs and hopefully we can get you a good judge of where your car is at vs where it was at.

Scott has worked on both my Sonoma, as well as tuned my Camaro. 100% would use again.

Optimistic? Are you sure you are talking about Intune and not talking about Speed Engineering? Scott's dyno at Intune has been known to give very LOW values in relation to some of the other dynos in the area.
