Best place to buy 315s

Post by 72RatCamaro »

Looking to pick up a fresh set of tires to do a few track days on and for light street duty. Is there any where that offers crazy good deals? Simpletire seems to be the best bet so far but if y'all know of any better options I'm all ears. Flexible on tire size too. Anywhere from 285/30-315/30 and can do 35 series in 285 and 295.

edit to say these are 18s

Are you wanting R-comps or 200 tw tires?

tirerack.com

They support SCCA and other amateur Motorsports groups. Additionally, several of their employees participate as well. Top notch customer service as well.

+1 on supporting Tire Rack. I usually watch for manufacturers rebates and buy them at Tire Rack if I'm not in a rush.

I don't need 200TW, but don't want full slicks either.

I normally go through tire rack, but from what I have found they aren't competitive price wise. Nearly $300 more expensive on a set of R888R's

You might want to look at where you want to play before buying tires. Many classes are now 200tw or above. I can't remember if that was the case when you were running with us regularly.

Love the car, BTW

I think Mark meant in the context of waiting out several months for a rebate.

Tire Rack support and service is fantastic. But they definitely aren't the cheapest.

Yeah, I will be doing more track days vs autox this year is my plan. So looking for a more track focused tire to get life out of them. Would normally just run rivals but they will get killed on the track. During AutoX I will either move to a non 200TW class or run my current rivals til they cord out.

I've had good luck with simpletire the past few years. My only problem I ever had with them was when I bought some super cheap R888's and they ended up being 7 years old (they gave me even more money back after I sent the date codes to them). They usually have free shipping, the cheapest prices, as well as discount codes for a lot of stuff. You can basically get a set of R888R's in a 315 shipped for around a grand.

Yeah, I ended up going with simple tire. Ordered around 11AM Friday and they were on the door at 3pm Saturday. And on top of the %15 off toyo sale they are running they gave me an additional 10% off the entire order due to a mistake on pricing on their end on some 295s they were showing.
