Time Trial Nationals at NCM late Sept.

Post by MARKP »

If anyone is considering attending, you should probably go get a hotel reserved. They are filling quickly.

Also, if we get enough people, I wonder if we would want to go in together and get a garage spot to hang out in. Small ones are only $70/day.

And looks like registration opens in 24 days.

I'm still thinking about it. What would be a good tire for it? I'm sure the BFGs wouldn't hold up to track use.

BFGs should be fine. From what I understand, we aren't doing tons of laps at a time. For most of the classes, you have to be on 200tw.

Yeah, I'm still really considering it. Going to mess with the E46 after our July event when I'll have some free time and see what I think about its track-worthiness.

So am I reading the format right in that you'll get (4) 20 minute practice sessions on track Friday, then (4) 20 minute hot lap sessions both on Saturday and Sunday, along with (3) different track cross elements both Saturday and Sunday?

Y'all coming to the track? Hell yeah!

I think my car goes into unlimited or something silly since I don't have a center console  But NCM is always a good time!

edit: Oh this is SCCA TT Nationals, nvm I won't take up a slot in unlimited with my 135rwhp miata.

Wuss. I'm taking my 120 hp Focus daily driver to whoop up on T5, against everything with more suspension, wheels, tires, and about twice the hp.

Oh, and we have a garage space reserved. Jeff, Steve, and I are in. If you want to join the party, post up. The cost was $210 for all 3 days so we will split that between those that want to come hang in the shade/dry/with the cool kids.

Yup. I have zero track experience and I would much rather risk bending a $3k Focus than a Corvette that I have wanted since they are new. Once I have more experience, I might take the 'vette.
