Offer $500 picked up and walk. These wheels will weigh about 16 lbs.

Nice looking wheels. I just e mailed the guy so hopefully he will get back to me. I have been considering what to do first. Buy the 17 x 7.5's and tires or buy coilovers since I just picked up some camber plates from Eddie this weekend. I can't do both so which one would be better for me in the long run? From the looks of things I will need to pick whichever will make me go faster since I think we will have a very close class again this year.

Get some more tire and wheel under there, I say.
You have konis and springs. Some camber in the front will help a LOT.
Tires and wheels are the better option at this point, since you need them anyway and they are really sort of a basic ingredient. You may not need coilovers to compete regionally.

I'd probably go with coilovers.
Coming from the guy who ditched his GTi for a mustang......Seemed like you ran your own car a lot more when you had the GTi, or am I mistaken =)
I vote wheel/tire combo.....I hate riding with people who have a super stiff street setup which usually comes with coilovers. So given you daily drive the car, I would keep that in mind and go wheel/tire.
tarz is whut grips the ground... hint hint
now, if you can get a codriver to spring for rims/tires.. or, Steve said he would buy you the coilovers. hehe can have em both
I have a coil over setup under theJetta TDi daily driver, just have to chose your spring rates wisely

From my observations, the car is REALLY flat in the turns already.
That's why you jumped up to take the Championship last year.
I've been impressed with the car's attitude in the corners ever since your last swap.
I would say wheels and tires, but maybe something a little heavier to keep up momentum.
