Atlanta region FYI

Post by scottgib »

The Atlanta region is now requiring pre-registration. No walk-ups.

It's good to know that we are ahead of the curve. We just didnt make or announce the decision before them.

We're not going on-line pre-reg only... but we are going to make it very advantageous for people to pre-register on-line. I've missed the last couple of meetings, so I may not be up to speed, but there will be a separate line for pre-regs (sign the waiver, drop your money and name, get outta line). There was some talk about adding a $5 fee for registering on-site, but I'm not sure about that one.

It appears that all regions are having the same issues of time involved in registering large turnouts for events and how to handle it. Nothing specific other than a pre-registration line and late registration fee has been decided by ETR but we are looking at the various options.
I just found it interesting that we were having the same discussion at the same time as Atlanta and their solution. I didnt mean to scare anyone with my comment.

Tenn Region is a good example since their site has greatly increased participation. And they have had a leadership vacumn for a period of time. At least we now know that we are not alone in the struggle.
I personally do think that their goal of 6 runs is not really feasible but if they can schedule it, go for it. Unfortunately we dont have the multiple car site which is the real key to timely events.

Not only the bigger lots help out but they have three cars on track at the same time. If we could come up with a way to have at least two cars on the track at the same time would help out alot and mean more runs. Only if it is even a couple of seconds.
